Summary
Officer Nolan and the LA division of the FBI enlist the help of FBI trainee Simone Clark when one of her former students is suspected of terrorism following an explosion at a local power station.
Our Take
This is a backdoor pilot for the FBI spinoff, and it plays exactly like one, with Nolan mostly sidelined while Simone Clark takes center stage. Niecy Nash is genuinely fun to watch and sells the character’s confidence, but the case itself is pretty routine. Worth watching if you’re curious about the spinoff, otherwise a middle-of-the-road hour.
