Episode Summary & Review
Summary
In this episode, Jeremy Clarkson asks if Europe’s glamour set still need their jets and helicopters or if they’d be better off with a car: the new, 1479 horsepower Bugatti Chiron with an epic cross-Europe dash. James May tests if the new Kia Stinger GT is faster than gravity itself with a race against some skateboarders. Plus May joins Richard Hammond to relieve the boredom of office lunchtimes with the brand new sport of car park racing. In Celebrity Face Off actor Hugh Bonneville goes against naturalist Casey Anderson to find the world’s fastest person who lives with a bear.
Our Take
The Chiron road trip should be the highlight but it’s oddly flat, more brochure than adventure, and Clarkson’s jet-and-helicopter comparisons feel like padding. The car park racing bit with Hammond and May is where the actual laughs live, though it runs a few minutes too long. A middling hour with a great car wasted on a thin premise. Worth it for fans, skippable otherwise.
