Summary
An amnesiac Metallo reemerges from the ocean and washes ashore on a volcanic island. Two children find him and make him their friend. As Metallo gradually remembers more of his past, he becomes evil again and seeks revenge on Superman.
Our Take
A quieter, almost fable-like hour that puts Metallo in a Frankenstein mode, and it mostly works. The kids’ friendship with him is genuinely sweet, and watching his memories creep back gives the episode a slow-burn sadness. The volcano climax is pretty standard stuff, but the melancholy ending sticks with you. Worth a watch if you like the villain-focused episodes.
