Summary
When the Enterprise transports a future leader to another world, a guardian stands between Wesley and a potential love interest.
Our Take
A middling hour saved by its bookends. Wesley’s first crush plays out exactly as awkwardly as you’d fear, with dialogue that no teenager has ever spoken, but the shapeshifter reveal gives the episode a genuinely unsettling edge the romance can’t match. Guinan’s advice scene lands nicely. Watchable, just don’t expect to remember much besides Anya’s transformations.
