Episode Summary & Review
Summary
An Enterprise away team beams down to a planet with a matriarchal society to search for survivors of a crashed Federation freighter.
Our Take
A clunky outing that leans on gender role reversal without having much to say about it. The away team plot drags through stiff dialogue and unconvincing politics, while Riker’s romance with the planet’s leader feels more awkward than provocative. The B-plot with the shipboard virus at least gives Pulaski-era sickbay vibes a dry run. Watchable, but one of season one’s weaker hours.
