Summary
Disguised as locals, Archer and his expedition explore a civilization bedeviled by a virulent ailment possibly linked to a covert — and anomalous — nuclear reactor. Determined to find the truth, the captain teams up with a local apothecary, leading to a close encounter between the two.
Our Take
A fairly standard first-contact story that borrows heavily from Trek’s past without adding much new. The mystery unfolds at a decent pace and the apothecary subplot gives Archer some charm, but the villain is forgettable and the resolution feels rushed. Harmless, watchable stuff that passes the time without leaving a mark.
