Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Having returned to Earth, Sisko waits for guidance from the Prophets to instruct him on what to do next. Back on DS9, the newly promoted Colonel Kira faces the challenges and burdens of command, and Worf struggles to deal with the loss of Jadzia.
Our Take
A quiet, downbeat opener that spends most of its hour setting up pieces rather than delivering anything. The Sisko material in New Orleans works nicely, and Kira settling into the captain’s chair has real weight, but Worf’s grief subplot drags and the Breen tease feels like stalling. Worth watching for the character beats, just don’t expect momentum.
