Summary
Keiko O’Brien returns from the Fire Caves on Bajor possessed by an alien entity which demands that Chief O’Brien follow its every instruction if he doesn’t want his wife to die.
Our Take
A tense bottle episode that leans almost entirely on Colm Meaney, who sells the panic of a man quietly doing terrible things to save his wife. Rosalind Chao clearly has a blast playing cold and menacing, and the pacing keeps the screws tight. The villain’s plan gets a bit wobbly if you think about it, but it’s a solid, creepy hour that plants seeds for later.
