Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Sisko is forced to confront the betrayal of someone he cares about when they are accused of being a Maquis smuggler. As the only two Cardassian residents on DS9, Garak and Ziyal begin spending time together.
Our Take
A solid episode built around a betrayal that actually lands, even if you can see the twist coming from a mile off. The Kasidy material gives Sisko some real emotional weight, and the Garak and Ziyal scenes are a quiet, slightly odd pleasure. It moves well and never drags, though it never quite becomes essential viewing either.
