Episode Summary & Review
Summary
When Grand Nagus Zek revises The Rules of Acquisition to be more philanthropic, Quark and Rom start to question whether their leader has gone insane. Meanwhile, when Dr. Bashir is nominated for a prestigious Federation medical award, his reaction is less than enthusiastic.
Our Take
A surprisingly funny Ferengi hour that lets Wallace Shawn run wild as a suddenly generous Zek. The comedy mostly lands, and Quark’s horror at philanthropy is a great character beat, though the Bashir award subplot feels like filler. Not essential viewing, but if you like the Ferengi episodes, this is one of the better ones.
