Summary
Several creatures help Samurai Jack to travel to an island where a time passage is located. However it is protected by an unbeatable warrior. Only the one to defeat this guardian may enter the passage.
Our Take
A moody, almost wordless hour that trades action for atmosphere, and it mostly pays off. The Guardian is one of the show’s best designs, a brute who’s genuinely funny and terrifying in equal measure, and the final fight delivers. The middle stretch of creature helpers drags a bit, but the ending gives the season its most tantalizing tease yet. Worth it.
