Summary

Leslie and her committee go door to-door to build support for her park project and recruit members for an upcoming town hall meeting, but their mission doesn’t go as smoothly as Leslie hopes. Meanwhile, Tom strays from the group and uses more questionable recruiting tactics.

Our Take

A slight step up from the pilot, mostly because the show is figuring out that Leslie works better when she’s failing earnestly than when she’s just ditzy. The canvassing scenes have a scrappy, awkward charm and Tom’s sleazy shortcuts land a few real laughs. It’s still rough around the edges with a few dead spots, but a quick, pleasant half hour that shows early promise.
