Summary
With little time to react, Steven is thrust into a war of the gods as a mysterious partner arrives.
Our Take
Episode two trades some of the premiere’s creepy mystery for exposition and setup, and it occasionally feels like the show is pausing to explain its own mythology. Still, Oscar Isaac is having a blast playing two guys arguing in a mirror, and the banter between Steven and Marc carries the slower patches. Worth your time, even if it’s more connective tissue than payoff.
