Summary
The gang fudge history by claiming that Paddy’s Pub was responsible for cracking the Liberty Bell in an attempt to turn their dive into a Philadelphia landmark.
Our Take
A weird, mostly enjoyable detour where the gang stages an entire fake Revolutionary-era flashback to scam landmark status. The period costumes and bad wigs get good mileage, and Charlie’s illiterate shopkeeper is a highlight, but the framing device runs out of steam before the end. It’s a fun experiment that doesn’t quite stick the landing, worth a watch for the change of pace alone.
