Episode Summary & Review
Summary
In the black and white noir world of his memory, Charlie navigates the seedy underbelly of Philadelphia as Frank has been “diarrhea poisoned,” and it’s up to Charlie to clean up the mess.
Our Take
A fun gimmick episode that commits hard to the noir bit, with Charlie’s voiceover and the black and white photography doing a lot of heavy lifting. The parody is affectionate and some gags land well, but the joke runs a little thin by the back half. Worth a watch for the style alone, just don’t expect the season’s best.
