Summary
While Alicent enlists Cole and Aemond to track down Aegon, she plots a heavy political drama in Kings Landing to crown her first born son. Amidst all the obstacles, the hand, the queen and their allies successfully names Aegon II to be the next king. Otto gathers the great houses of Westeros to affirm their allegiance.
Our Take
A tense, talky hour that trades battles for backroom dealing, and mostly pulls it off. Alicent finally gets real agency, the small council scheming crackles, and Aegon’s hunt through the city adds some grit. The pacing sags in the middle and a couple of characters make convenient choices. Still, a solid setup hour that earns its place before the finale.
