Summary
Fed up with his life and job, Gary moves to the forest where he befriends a group of fed up demons also looking to escape the daily grind. Leslie and Hanley are forced to go after him when the Ministry begins to fall apart in his absense.
Our Take
A change-of-pace episode that mostly works because Gary’s misery has always been the show’s engine, and watching him find demon buddies who share it is genuinely funny for a while. The Ministry collapse stuff is thinner and plays like filler. Worth a watch if you like the show’s deadpan groove, but it won’t convert anyone.
