Summary
After thirty years on the job as a demon hunter, Gary is looking forward to retirement. But when his boss reveals they still haven’t found a new chosen one, Gary tries to take matters into his own hands.
Our Take
A solid setup episode that leans on workplace misery more than monster hunting, and it works because Gary’s exhaustion is genuinely funny. The animation is cheap and the jokes occasionally whiff, but the deadpan delivery carries it. It’s short, mean, and promising enough that I’d give episode two a shot.
