Summary
Bender embarks on a quest for the meaning of life after discovering that robots lack free will.
Our Take
This one goes surprisingly philosophical for a cartoon about a drunk robot, and mostly pulls it off. Bender’s crisis over his lack of free will gives the episode real bite, even if the middle stretch in the monastery drags a bit. The ending lands a nice emotional punch. A solid hour, worth your time if you like when Futurama gets a little sincere.
