Our Take
This is Futurama at its most sincere, and the ending lands hard enough that you’ll forgive the fairly thin plot. The flashback structure gives Fry’s backstory real weight, and the twist with his brother Yancy pays off beautifully. It’s funny in spots, but the emotional payoff is the reason to watch. One of the few episodes that treats Fry’s loss seriously, and it earns every bit of it.
