Summary
The Elric brothers adjust to military life and take part in a manhunt for Isaac the Freezer, a former State Alchemist bent on ending the reign of Fuhrer Bradley.
Our Take
A busy premiere that mostly exists to reintroduce the world and show off the action, and the Isaac storyline is really just an excuse for that. The animation shines in the alchemy fights and Bradley gets a properly menacing introduction, but newcomers might feel like they’re being handed a tour instead of a story. Worth watching, though the show finds its real footing a few episodes later.
