Summary
Duckman sells his identity to the Variecom corporation for $1000, which he immediately spends. Unable to use his own name or image, he is left penniless. He even tries to become a Duckman impersonator, until he is “downsized”. Then he conceives a plan to get his self respect and identity back. Meanwhile, Cornfed leaves to rejoin the 80’s band A Flock of Seagulls.
Our Take
A solid late-run satire that fits the show’s cynical worldview, even if the corporate sellout premise feels a bit familiar. The gags about Duckman whoring out his identity land more often than they miss, and the A Flock of Seagulls detour is a weirdly great use of Cornfed. Not a standout, but a consistently funny half hour that fans will enjoy.
