Summary
Feeling “creatively obligated by a film noir parody”, Cornfed calls their new client “a dame”, whose name is Tamara La Boinque. Later he confesses to a priest about betraying his partner, when they both fall in love with their client.
Our Take
The noir spoof mostly works because Cornfed is the perfect straight man for it, and his confession scenes give the episode a real spine. The parody bits get a bit stretched in the middle, and some gags land harder than others. Still, it’s a fun, confident season opener worth a watch if you like the show’s weirder side.
