Summary
Jeff needs to convince Troy to join the school’s football team in order to save his career. Just when he thinks he has Troy convinced, Annie steps in and throws a wrench in the plan. Meanwhile, Shirley teaches Britta the etiquette of girl talk.
Our Take
This one leans hard on the Jeff-manipulates-someone formula, and it’s starting to feel familiar even six episodes in. The Shirley and Britta subplot gets some good awkward laughs, but Annie’s moralizing subplot drags more than it should. Fine for a weekday watch, just not an episode you’d rewatch.
