Peixoto holds Olga to her promise to marry him. Ana Francisca pays the employees. Selma says she is going to be a teacher. Bernardo and Camélia begin working at the factory. Jezebel refuses to stay in the kitchen and is put in as secretary, under Roseli’s orders. Olga assures she is on Danilo’s side, and he shows himself willing to move to the farm if he gets custody of his son. Márcia goes into the jewelry store. Vivaldo follows right after. Yvete tells Timóteo. Márcia tries on the ring and does not even see her husband walk into the jewelry store. She insists she does not want the ring because she loves Timóteo. He is moved by what she says. The two kiss passionately. Timóteo beats up Vivaldo. Yvete shouts in the street that the mayor is worthless, shows the documents she has kept against him and vows she will work for the opposition candidate. Sofia shows the evidence she has piled up against Sebastian and agrees to marry him as long as he becomes an honest man. Cássia discovers that Olga got paint and canvases from Jóia and Beleza and goes looking for Bernardo.
