Ana Francisca asks Danilo not to accuse her, because it is all a mistake. He packs his bags, leaves and checks into the hotel. Ana accuses Miguel of wanting to separate her from Danilo. He swears he never painted a nude portrait of her. Bernardo swears the painting on the wall is not the one he brought home. Ana Francisca wants to find out who made the swap. Miguel assures that Ana Francisca never posed for that painting, which he never painted either, but Danilo does not believe it. Olga celebrates. Graça begins to feel the pains of labor and suffers greatly. Beto arrives with the midwife, who prays, drives the evils from Graça’s body; Graça says she would rather die, if need be, to save her son’s life. A boy is born. Graça apologizes to Guilherme, asks him and Celina to raise the child, and dies. Sebastian asks Sofia to marry him. Guilherme warns Ana Francisca that Danilo wants custody of Tonico and advises her to leave town. Ana Francisca asks to fly away in the balloon with Miguel.
