Timóteo tells Gigi that he likes someone else. Klaus falls asleep during the prayer. Danilo says there was a plot, but he refused to take part in it, and Guilherme advises him to talk to Ana Francisca. Danilo thinks a bit of gossip cannot destroy his love. Carmem wants to know who Márcia is interested in. Timóteo offers to take his cousin to town, but she refuses. Beto accuses Selma of toying with his feelings. Bárbara asks Timóteo to help her catch Vivaldo and Márcia in the act. He lets a tear escape. Danilo buys a piece of jewelry for Ana Francisca, advised by Tonico. Ana Francisca is trying on her wedding dress when Danilo walks in, and Mocinha thinks it is bad luck. Graça threatens to speak about the fight between Danilo and Sebástian, but Guilherme interrupts her. Olga lies to Cássia, saying Terêncio kept her away from Bernardo so she would not spoil the plan to marry off Danilo. Marieta suggests buying Márcia’s beauty salon, but she will not accept. Bárbara and Timóteo lie in wait on the road. Márcia stops when she spots Vivaldo’s car. Márcia tries on the choker necklace. Vivaldo promises he will marry her. Eugênio confesses to Margarido his interest in Márcia and offers her a ride. Timóteo and Bárbara come out of hiding just as Márcia and Vivaldo are about to kiss. Márcia leaps at Bárbara, rips off her wig and throws it up into a tree. Margarido arrives in the middle of the commotion and is furious. Margarido throws Márcia out of the house, but Carmem will not allow it. Eugênio returns the wig, but Bárbara discovers that birds have laid two eggs in it. Carmem advises Márcia to be less ambitious and look for true love. Mocinha comforts Margarido. Miguel orders Timóteo to confess his passion. Graça pretends not to want to talk about the plan to Celina. Aninha cries when Márcia says Danilo will only marry for money. Márcia looks incredulous when Timóteo declares that he loves her. Márcia almost gives in, but the two end up fighting and storming off in separate directions, furious. Márcia apologizes to Aninha. Danilo begs Ana Francisca to let nothing harm their wedding. Graça tells Celina that Danilo admitted his wedding is part of a plot.
