Summary
Jules tries to win Beth’s approval of the relationship she and Brockmire are trying to rekindle, but they don’t get along until Jules takes Beth under her wing as a drinking buddy. Jim is irate that Jules was a bad influence on his daughter.
Our Take
A decent midseason episode that leans on the Jules and Beth pairing more than Brockmire himself, and it mostly works thanks to their odd-couple chemistry. Jim’s outrage feels a bit recycled from earlier seasons, like the show retracing steps instead of pushing forward. Worth a watch for the drinking scenes, but don’t expect much forward momentum.
