Summary
Baseball is barely holding on so Jim turns to the one person he knows can turn it around, Jules James. However, it’s going to take a lot of convincing to get her to leave Morristown to help a sport and man who both turned their backs on her.
Our Take
A solid setup episode that leans hard on the Jim and Jules dynamic, and their prickly chemistry mostly carries it. The baseball-in-crisis material gets a bit repetitive, and some of the convincing drags in the middle stretch. Still, the dialogue stays sharp and Azaria and Peet are fun to watch spar. Worth your time, even if it mostly exists to position the next few episodes.
