Summary

Jesse’s disappearance leaves Walt fearing the worst; Skyler has a surprising reunion; and Hank gives Det. Roberts bad news.

Our Take

Mike takes Jesse on pickup runs, ostensibly as muscle, actually as Gus’s project: give the boy purpose, earn his loyalty, split him from Walt. It works better than anyone expects — Jesse, trusted for the first time in his life, becomes sharp, reliable, and devoted to the crew. Walt sees the manipulation and can’t stop it. The episode’s twin performances (Jonathan Banks’s weathered patience, Aaron Paul’s awakening) make it the season’s quiet turning point.
