Summary

The fourth season ends with Walt and Jesse squaring off against Gus. Elsewhere, Walt acquires a surprise confederate with help from Saul.

Our Take

“Face Off.” Walt visits Tio, plants the bomb under the wheelchair, and lets Gus’s hatred do the steering: the nursing-home visit, the bell ringing in the room, and the explosion that leaves Gus Fring standing in a doorway — adjusting his tie — with half his face gone. The most iconic death in TV history, staged like opera. The rest is aftermath: Jesse freed, the superlab torched, the computer evidence magnetized… no, that’s next season. Here: the phone call home (“I won”), and the final shot — the Lily of the Valley plant on Walt’s patio, confirming he poisoned a child to win. The best season of the best show ever made.
