Walt moves back into the house and refuses to leave — the marriage becomes a hostage negotiation conducted over family dinners. Meanwhile, Gus reveals the superlab to Walt: an industrial-scale operation under the laundry, built for a chemist of his caliber. Gale Boetticher, the lab assistant, is introduced as Walt’s mirror: a purist, a gentleman, a man who loves chemistry the way Walt claims to. The cousins’ hunt tightens.
