Summary
The Vok unleash a monstrous weapon, an artificial moon, intending to destroy Earth and all Maximals and Predacons on it. Using a stasis pod equipped with transwarp cells, Optimus flies to the moon to destroy it, but Megatron deviously seals the pod shut, causing Optimus to be destroyed along with the moon.
Our Take
A surprisingly heavy way to close out season one, with the Vok plot finally paying off and the show killing off its biggest character without flinching. The Optimus sacrifice lands because the episode takes its time getting there, though some of the alien moon business still looks cheap. The Megatron betrayal sting is the real hook, and it leaves you wanting the next season immediately.
