Summary
After his computer breaks, Jack rallies his class to win the annual Whitlock’s Got Talent competition so the prize money can go towards a new laptop. Helen and Durbin put on their best tuxes to host while Mary, Stef and Michelle prepare a hand bell routine.
Our Take
The talent show premise is thin, and the episode leans hard on Jack being cruel to kids for money, which gets old even by this show’s standards. Helen and Durbin in tuxes earn a few real laughs, and the hand bell subplot has a nice payoff. Watchable but forgettable, somewhere in the middle of the season’s pack.
