Summary
Jennifer Goines takes her power into her own hands in the year 2016 when she forms the Hyenas, a band of crazy compatriots, to take on the 12 Monkeys. With the help of Cole, an elaborate plot is uncovered to reacquire the virus.
Our Take
A Jennifer-focused hour that finally gives Emily Hampshire room to carry an episode, and she mostly earns it. The Hyenas are fun in bursts but the wackiness wears thin by the halfway mark, and the virus plot only inches forward. Worth watching for the character work and one genuinely great monologue, just don’t expect the season’s bigger gears to turn much here.
