Two Netflix book adaptations are on the calendar: Deadline’s roundup of the TV book adaptations arriving in 2026 confirms East of Eden premieres October 1, and Pride and Prejudice is still on track for fall with no release date announced yet.
East of Eden is Zoe Kazan’s take on John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel, a family story of love, betrayal, duty and free will. Florence Pugh stars as Cathy Ames alongside Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist and Hoon Lee, and Kazan wrote the adaptation and shares showrunning duties with Jeb Stuart. Her grandfather, Elia Kazan, directed the 1955 film version of the book.

Pride and Prejudice, created by Dolly Alderton with Euros Lyn directing, adapts Jane Austen’s novel across six episodes. Emma Corrin plays Elizabeth Bennet, Jack Lowden plays Mr. Darcy, and Olivia Colman plays Mrs. Bennet. Netflix has it slated for fall 2026, with the exact date still to come.
