Apple TV’s Beat The Reaper has locked its supporting lineup. Damon Herriman, Stephanie Nur, Artoun Nazareth and Molly Price have all signed on as series regulars, joining Will Poulter and J.K. Simmons in the dramedy, Deadline reported exclusively today.
Herriman comes off runs in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Bikeriders, Nur from Lioness and 1883, Nazareth from The Promised Land, and Price from Elsbeth. They round out a cast already stacked by Poulter’s lead turn and an Oscar winner in Simmons.
The series comes from showrunner Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad, Preacher) and adapts Josh Bazell’s 2009 novel. Poulter plays Dr. Peter Brown, a Boston hospital intern with a buried past as a mob hitman, racing through one long night of government agents and assassins. Tim Van Patten directs the pilot and executive produces alongside Catlin and Poulter for Apple Studios and New Regency.
