Monday (Sep 7)
Casemiro throws Mirinho out of the house, and Graça despairs. Caetana decides to leave the sugar mill and move to Tonho’s lands. Mirinho seeks shelter with Manoel and Fortunato, and José suspects the robbery he suffered may also have been commissioned by Mirinho. Jendal suffers over having no news of Alika, and Binta burns Alika’s belongings while Kênia celebrates the queen’s loss of control. Didi, Montanha and Carrapato rob the Armazém dos Curi. Tonho announces to Alika that he has decided to stay in Barro Preto.
Tuesday (Sep 8)
Tonho and Alika suffer over the impossibility of their love and decide to stay apart. Mirinho tells Marta and Virgínia a fabricated story that he chose to leave Casemiro’s house. Jawari, Bourgade and Jendal argue over the French entry into Batanga’s mines. Fátima recognizes Donato and deduces that Veneranda’s miracle was fake. Virgínia falls ill upon learning she must share her inheritance with Ritinha, and Marta reveals to Teresa that Diógenes is Ritinha’s father. Alika receives a telegram from Omar with the date of his departure for Batanga.
Wednesday (Sep 9)
Alika, José and Niara decide on her return to Batanga with Omar. Tonho confides to Januário that he is suffering over Alika’s departure. Mirinho discovers that Maria Helena ran off with Murilo. Kênia denounces Jendal’s and Binta’s dealings with the French to Campbell. Chinua informs Dumi, Akin and Ladisa about the negotiation and reveals Kênia has already warned Campbell. Graça begs Caetana’s forgiveness and pleads for her return to the mill, and Virgínia believes she may be pregnant.
Thursday (Sep 10)
Marta demands that Virgínia book an appointment with Onildo. Alika tells Salma her true story, and Salma confirms she has feelings for Omar, suffering at news of the Turk’s departure. Binta provokes Kênia, Jendal is harsh with his wife, and Binta and Pascoal kiss. Mirinho learns that Tonho and Lúcia/Alika have separated and offers to travel with the young woman. Onildo confirms Virgínia’s pregnancy, and she announces to everyone that she will have Mirinho’s child, arousing Sebastião’s suspicion. Omar lights up upon learning that Tonho will no longer go to Batanga.
Friday (Sep 11)
Omar tries to comfort Alika and insists the war must be won, telling her he can stay by her side. Casemiro assures Graça he will not forgive Mirinho. Onildo advises Sebastião to keep his night with Virgínia secret. Ana Maria ends her romance with Manoel, to Januário’s delight, and Omar gifts Salma, who ends up kissing him. Jendal signs the agreement for French exploitation in Batanga, and led by Dumi, the rebels strike Jendal with a lance.
Saturday (Sep 12)
Jendal is carried to the palace, and Kênia helps her father. Dumi confronts Pascoal, and Onildo and Niara make love. Manoel tells Fortunato they will soon have to reveal the truth about Maria Helena. Oruka reports that Jendal’s health is critical and that the rebels will not accept the king handing the country to foreigners. Dumi is overwhelmed by Pascoal and Jendal orders him imprisoned, then Chinua warns Akin and Ladisa that Jendal has condemned Dumi to death. Kênia blames herself for Dumi’s fate.
