Claimed by My Boyfriend’s Mafia Dad
Our Review
What Happens
Grace goes to her boyfriend Ethan’s birthday party and leaves it barely able to stand. Her closest friend Chloe spiked her drink and arranged for Grace to be blamed for it. Half-remembered, Grace ends up on a hotel terrace with a stranger.
The stranger is Vincent, who runs a crime family and is also Ethan’s father. Grace works that out the next morning and decides to bury it and carry on with Ethan, which would be easier if Vincent were willing to leave her alone. The revenge-on-Chloe arc is the one with real teeth: what she did isn’t a mistake, it’s a crime, and the show makes Grace chase the receipts herself.
Our take: the boyfriend’s-dad transgression is the app’s favorite shock, but this one builds the punishment for the best friend into the paywall, which is either cynical or thematically perfect. Vincent stays dangerous long enough to be worth the fear. 9.5 million views and a solid 8.8 on the app.
Should you watch it?
If Poisoned by His Love made you a mafia-romance customer, this is the next pull, with a meaner best friend and a softer father figure.
What’s in it (content guide)
Content note: Adult material and a dark consent beat: the heroine’s drink is spiked, she cannot remember the night that follows. The story treats this as a crime (the friend who did it is punished), but the premise itself is non-consensual. Mafia violence, intimidation. All parties are adults.
