Paramount+ has a premiere window for the second and final season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. The sophomore season will arrive in March 2027, announced Saturday during the Star Trek Universe panel at New York Comic Con. Series star Holly Hunter joined cast members Sandro Rosta, Bella Shepard and Karim Diane plus co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau for the reveal.
The panel also confirmed two guest stars for the final run. Bill Nighy will play Nyk Ake, the estranged father of Chancellor Nahla Ake, and Rosemarie DeWitt will play Laytha Sadal, the First Lady of Betazed and mother of cadet Tarima Sadal. First look photos from the new season were also released.
Season two follows the cadets into their second year aboard the USS Athena, where a mysterious new cadet raises questions with consequences far beyond the classroom. The ten episode season wraps the story that began in January 2026, when the series premiered on Paramount+.
