Apple TV’s upcoming dramedy Beat The Reaper has added Paul Schulze and Tony Macht to its recurring cast, Deadline reported exclusively today. Details on their characters are being kept under wraps.
Schulze is a familiar face from The Sopranos and Nurse Jackie, while Macht comes off Broadway’s Tony-winning comedy Oh, Mary! and HBO’s The Comeback. They join Will Poulter as Dr. Peter Brown, an intern at Boston’s worst hospital with a past he would rather keep hidden, and J.K. Simmons as the incompetent surgeon Dr. Friendly.
The series adapts Josh Bazell’s novel of the same name, with Sam Catlin of Breaking Bad as showrunner and Tim Van Patten directing the pilot. Apple Studios and New Regency co-produce.
