Monday (Aug 17)
Bela promises Juli she will pick Samuca up from school, but a stop at the market leaves her attending a woman about to give birth there. Vanessa is irritated that Bela wants to admit the woman to her private hospital, while Pérola backs the obstetrician and clashes with Vanessa over the hospital presidency. Peixe confronts Bela about her absence from his family life, and Juarez and Iara invite Juli to dinner. Juarez causes a car crash and flees without helping, and Bela and Juli’s car rolls over after a collision, leaving Juli in critical condition. Juli makes Bela promise to care for her children.
Tuesday (Aug 18)
Bela despairs over Juli’s death, and Lucas learns of it and takes Peixe, Glorinha, Ítalo and Samuca to the hospital, where the four siblings learn their mother has died. Peixe turns his rage on Bela, and the obstetrician meets Lucas, who comforts her. Vanessa pushes ahead with the inauguration of a new hospital wing despite pleas from Pérola, Gabriel and Giovana to cancel it after Juli’s death. Juarez torments himself for fleeing the crash scene. Bela confronts Peixe and declares she will take care of him and his siblings.
Wednesday (Aug 19)
Dulce is startled to find Juli’s children at Bela’s house, and Bela grasps the weight of the responsibility she has taken on. Juarez concludes he is responsible for Juli’s death and despairs. Gabriel helps Bela care for the children while Vanessa grows jealous of his attention, then discovers a suspicious message from Pérola to him. Peixe decides to go home but his siblings stay with Bela, and Dalila vows not to abandon Peixe. Bela visits Iara’s house and assures Juarez she will find Juli’s killer.
Thursday (Aug 20)
Bela discusses Juarez’s devastated state with Iara and tries to organize her days with the children, supported by Glorinha. Peixe returns to Bela’s house, and she takes the children to school, where Samuca suffers and Ítalo helps him. Vanessa encourages a patient to file a complaint against Bela at the hospital ombudsman. Juarez decides not to reveal his role in the accident to his wife and daughter. Vanessa overhears Gabriel’s conversation with Pérola, who insists Bela is the right person to lead the hospital.
Friday (Aug 21)
Vanessa is furious with Bela and mistreats her, then remembers how she lost her own son in the past and accuses the obstetrician. Pérola tells Bela she has plans for her at the hospital. Ítalo suffers during his judo classes and misses his mother, and Dulce hands Bela her resignation. Lucas warns Bela about Peixe’s behavior at school, and Bela strikes an agreement with Peixe. Bela and Lucas kiss.
Saturday (Aug 22)
Bela tells Lucas she is not in a good place to get involved with anyone. Vanessa announces to Pérola and Gabriel that she is considering selling the hospital to Junqueira, then inaugures her special wing and provokes Bela. Peixe forgets Bela’s house key and turns up at the hospital with his siblings, and a shopping trip with the children leaves everyone remembering Juli. After Vanessa mistreats Gabriel and he leaves home, a distraught Vanessa denounces Bela to the Child Protective Council for illegally sheltering four orphans. A council representative tells Bela she must take the children to a shelter.
