Paramount+ has picked up US and select international rights to three British series from A24, Deadline reported Tuesday. The trio includes The Ministry of Time, the BBC fantasy drama adapted by Alice Birch from the Kaliane Bradley novel, alongside the Leo Reich comedy It Gets Worse and the women’s soccer drama Major Players, both from Channel 4.
The Ministry of Time stars Aoife Hinds as Sophy and Billy Howle as Commander Graham Gore, an officer rescued from Sir John Franklin’s doomed 1845 Arctic expedition. The story follows a government department that gathers people pulled from across history to test whether time travel can work, and how a forbidden romance grows inside it. Aneil Karia is lead director on the six episodes, which A24 produces for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
It Gets Worse will arrive as a Showtime original on Paramount+ in November. No US premiere date has been set yet for The Ministry of Time, which was filmed in and around London with Hong Chau, Adeel Akhtar and Ciaran Hinds among the supporting cast.
