Ten years on, the team went urban: the same species negotiating cities, highways and rooftops, cut like an heist film with an Attenborough whisper track. The concrete jungle hour (snakes taking the stairwells of Singapore) and the hawk versus pigeon aerial duel are some of the most rewatchable sequences the unit has ever delivered.
The technology jump is real: 4K, slow motion that reads like ballet, low light work that makes the 2006 series look like a field cam. The animal stories get more personal this time around, a polar bear with cubs, a leaf tailed gecko with a name, which is the difference between a textbook and a novel.
All six hours land. The elephant sequence alone is worth the whole series, though you may need a minute after.
