Youth premieres tonight on HBO: the first two episodes of Sharon Horgan’s new comedy air Sunday, September 20 at 10 p.m. ET on HBO and stream on HBO Max, with new episodes arriving weekly.
The first reviews landed this morning. Variety calls the show “a light, breezy take on middle age,” IndieWire grades it a B and points to Horgan’s “defiant jubilation,” and Time calls it “hilarious.” The early consensus is positive across the board.
Horgan created the series and stars as Alex, a London literary agent who is freshly 50, long divorced, and ready to put her own life first for a change. With her grown son Ruari (Aran Murphy) off to university and her parents needing care, Alex starts dating again, with mixed results. Rupert Friend, Sharlene Whyte, and Robbie Gee costar.
