Our Take

Midseason episodes like this usually just shuffle pieces around the board, and Shortly mostly does that, though a few character moments land harder than expected. The comedy takes a back seat to the escalating danger, which works because the cast sells the panic well. It’s a decent hour that sets up the finale without feeling like pure setup, worth watching if you’re this far in.
