Episode Summary & Review
Summary
The new Honda Civic Type-R is put to its paces on the test track. James races the new Alfa Romeo 159 around the Humber estuary, and is beaten by the man in a rubber suit. Jeremy hurtles around in estate cars on Manchester Airport’s main runway. Richard and James enter some ageing camper vans in Top Gear’s inaugural Motorhome Grand Prix.
Our Take
The motorhome race is exactly the kind of glorious stupidity this show does best, with caravans scattering across the track and the guys clearly loving every minute of it. The Alfa race against the swimmer sounds like a joke on paper but actually lands. The airport runway segment is fine but forgettable. A fun hour overall, even if you’ll skip the Civic bit.
