In Cape Town, South Africa, Richard Hammond gets his hands on Mercedes’ fastest road car, the SLR – developed by Formula 1 team McLaren. And James May looks at some of the worst handling cars on the market. And this week’s Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is the decorated comedian impressionist Rory Bremner.

Our Take

A strong car-focused hour with plenty of variety, from Clarkson bouncing a Cayenne around a tank range to Hammond finally getting seat time in the SLR, which he’s clearly been waiting all season for. The German theme holds things together nicely and May’s worst-handlers segment gets some good laughs. Bremner’s impressions are hit and miss, but the rest easily carries it.
