Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Sam tries out to be the school mascot hoping to impress Cindy. Meanwhile, Daniel, Ken, and Kim suddenly become the basketball team’s most rabid fans following a series of run ins with jocks from the rival school, Lincoln High. Lindsay tries to figure out the best way to break up with Nick.
Our Take
A very funny hour that leans into school-spirit absurdity, and the freaks getting invested in a basketball rivalry is a nice flip of the usual dynamic. Sam’s mascot tryout lands some painful, cringeworthy laughs, while Lindsay’s breakup storyline keeps things grounded and a little sad. The balance works well this week, and it’s one of the season’s more rewatchable episodes.
