Forty years after he appeared in the sky to save humanity, Marvelous Man makes a televised address that shocks the world, and his Guardians of Justice.
Our Take
This opener throws a lot at the wall: live action, animation, comic panels, and news footage all mashed together in a style borrowed heavily from Watchmen. Some of the visual swings land and the central mystery has a hook, but the tonal whiplash and cheap effects make it feel messier than ambitious. Worth a look if you like weird superhero deconstructions, just don’t expect polish.
